MrWatchMaster Opinion: Urwerk Special Project – UR111C

We love the slightly eccentric way that Urwerk see the world. The extraordinary vision of both Felix Baumgartner and Martin Frei, is like a breath of fresh air for the watch industry.

Incredible Attention To Detail

There has to be a strong bond with a mechanism that merges into your wrist: a machine becomes part of you and gives you information in return for energy. It’s an exchange. For this reason, we created a new interface with the watch. Instead of the conventional crown at the end of the stem, we conceived a roller integrated into the top of the case for a new sensation.” Felix Baumgartner, Urwerk, Co-founder and Master Watchmaker

About Urwerk

Felix Baumgartner (co-founder and master watchmaker) and Martin Frei (co-founder and chief designer) first met in 1995 to discuss developing a watch. The young men were united by their common passion for measuring and portraying time. A long discussion, a sharing of philosophies and dreams, culminated in a decision to create their own vision of time. They founded URWERK in 1997 and presented their first timepiece with the AHCI at Baselworld that same year.
