Since 2015, the F.P. Journe Young Talent Competition – supported by The Hour Glass Singapore – discovers the next generation of talented young watchmaking apprentices in the world.
YTC supports them on their route to independence by identifying their achievements and putting them under the spotlight.
The competition is open to watchmaking apprentices or watchmakers who have already graduated. Applicants must be over 18 and less than 30 years old, self-taught applicants are also welcome. Applicants must have independently designed and created a timepiece and/or a technical construction.
The selection criteria is based on technical achievement, the search for complexity in their realisation, the quality of craftsmanship as well as their sense of design and aesthetics.
The 2021 Young Talent Competition winner will receive a diploma accredited by Jury of key personalities from the international horological world and a CHF 20,000 grant from The Hour Glass and F.P. Journe, which will allow them to purchase watchmaking tools or finance a horological project.
