Jaeger-LeCoultre Refines The Reverso With Elegant New Proportions

Since its creation in 1931, the Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso has stood as one of watchmaking’s most enduring designs. Instantly recognisable through its swivelling case and unmistakable Art Deco profile, the collection has continuously evolved without ever compromising the identity that made it an icon.

For 2026, the Maison refines the Reverso once again through a considered series of new proportions, upgraded calibres and subtle aesthetic enhancements that bring the collection closer than ever to its original spirit.

At a time when collectors are rediscovering the appeal of classical watchmaking proportions, Jaeger-LeCoultre revisits some of its most emblematic Reverso references with more compact dimensions designed to deliver a refined and elegant fit on slimmer wrists. It is a return to the codes that defined twentieth century watch design, where restraint, balance and sophistication mattered more than sheer wrist presence.

The latest additions span the Reverso Classic Small Monoface, Reverso Classic Small Duetto, Reverso Classic Monoface ‘Origin’ and the Reverso Tribute Duoface Small Seconds, each preserving the timeless character of the collection while introducing discreet contemporary refinements.

The Reverso Classic Small Monoface arrives in steel with either a blue alligator strap or polished five row steel bracelet, alongside an 18k pink gold version paired with a taupe alligator strap. Signature design details remain intact, including the guilloché sunray dial, chemin de fer minute track and sharply defined Arabic numerals. One subtle but important refinement sees the applied JL logo replacing the previous transfer printed signature, bringing added depth and sophistication to the dial. As with all Monoface models, the blank reverse side of the case remains an invitation for personal engraving or lacquer work, allowing owners to create a uniquely personal piece.

The Reverso Classic Small Duetto continues the Maison’s celebrated dual dial concept with an elegant update to both faces of the watch. Available in steel or 18k pink gold, the front dial now features tone on tone applied numerals and logo work for a more harmonious three dimensional appearance. The reverse dial adopts a cleaner, more contemporary execution, with the omission of the 12 and 6 numerals amplifying the radiating guilloché effect. Applied double sunray indexes further enhance the depth and texture of the display. Demonstrating the craftsmanship involved, more than twenty individual production steps are required to create the two dials.

A new Double Set steel execution introduces brilliant cut diamonds on both sides of the case, elevating the Duetto’s jewellery inspired appeal. Strap options include interchangeable alligator straps and matching metal bracelets, all equipped with Jaeger-LeCoultre’s quick change system for effortless versatility.

Introduced in 2025, the Reverso Classic Monoface ‘Origin’ returns for 2026 with diamond set gadroons that enhance the play of light across the case and dial finishes. Presented in steel with either a blue alligator strap or steel bracelet, the model pays tribute to the proportions and aesthetics of the very first feminine Reverso from 1931. The reversible case once again allows the watch to be worn either with the dial visible or flipped over like a discreet piece of jewellery.

Meanwhile, the Reverso Tribute Duoface Small Seconds receives a significant reinterpretation through revised dimensions measuring 42.9 mm by 25.5 mm. The new medium sized case brings the watch closer in spirit to the original Duoface models introduced in 1994. The silvered opaline front dial is paired with a striking blue grey reverse dial displaying a second time zone, its sunray satin brushed finish contrasting beautifully against the polished steel case. Powered by the manually wound Calibre 854, the watch is presented on a black calfskin strap designed by Casa Fagliano and fitted with the Maison’s interchangeable strap system.

Beyond aesthetics, Jaeger-LeCoultre has also focused on improving the mechanical performance of the collection. The latest evolutions of Calibres 846 and 844 incorporate a total of sixteen technical upgrades designed to enhance precision, reliability and efficiency. Among the most important developments is the introduction of a new silicon escapement that reduces friction while increasing resistance to magnetism. At the same time, an enlarged barrel diameter has extended the power reserve from 38 hours to 50 hours without increasing the overall dimensions of the movement.

Taken together, these latest Reverso interpretations demonstrate Jaeger-LeCoultre’s continued mastery of balancing heritage with innovation. The identity remains unmistakably Reverso, yet every detail has been carefully reconsidered to ensure the collection feels as relevant and elegant today as it did nearly a century ago.
