Hermès Cape Cod Titanium: A Sporting Classic Reimagined
Since its debut in 1991, the Hermès Cape Cod has stood apart from conventional luxury sports watches. Conceived by legendary Hermès designer Henri d’Origny, its distinctive “square within a rectangle” silhouette, inspired by the maison’s iconic anchor-chain link, has become one of contemporary watchmaking’s most recognisable designs.

For 2026, Hermès introduces a thoroughly modern interpretation, pairing the Cape Cod’s unmistakable aesthetic with a lightweight titanium case and an in-house automatic movement.
The new 41mm case is crafted entirely from titanium, immediately giving the watch a more contemporary, performance-focused character. Satin-brushed surfaces contrast with bead-blasted case sides, creating subtle textures that complement the model’s relaxed yet purposeful personality.

Continuing the sporting theme, the black dial showcases a sophisticated mix of finishes. A sandblasted centre catches the light beautifully, while the satin-brushed outer chapter ring adds visual depth. Rhodium-plated Arabic numerals and baton hands, both treated with Super-LumiNova®, ensure excellent legibility in all conditions, while a vibrant orange central seconds hand injects a welcome splash of colour.
Powering the Cape Cod is the Manufacture Hermès H1912 automatic calibre. Produced in Switzerland, the self-winding movement delivers a 45-hour power reserve while displaying the hours, minutes, central seconds and a discreet date aperture positioned at six o’clock.

With water resistance rated to 100 metres (10 bar), the latest Cape Cod is more than capable of accompanying everyday adventures. Reinforcing its casual, maritime-inspired appeal, Hermès offers the watch on integrated rubber straps in Black, Bleu Abysse, Orange or Jaune de Naples, each bringing its own distinctive personality while reflecting the collection’s effortless sporting spirit.
More than three decades after its introduction, the Cape Cod continues to prove that great design needs little reinvention. This titanium edition successfully blends the playful elegance that has always defined the collection with the practicality and robustness expected by today’s watch enthusiasts.
