Ruben Tomella, the founder of Gagà Milano, decided to leverage the expertise of Manufacture Gagà SA, the Swiss company that has been designing and producing high-end watches since 2012 [for Gagà Milano], to embark on a new venture in the world of luxury watches.

He has teamed up with his friend Mo Coppoletta, a connoisseur of the watchmaking industry who is now the Art Director of Gagà Laboratorio. Coppoletta is a world-renowned artist, designer and tattoo artist. His immense passion for Art in all its expressive forms and applications, has made him a multifaceted visionary, able to adapt his stylistic métier, strongly inspired by graphic, ornamental and decorative arts, spanning from mediaeval times to the early parts of the 20th century, in executions that lend themselves to design, illustrations and fine art.

Inspired by the stylistic lines and moods of second post-war Italian design, Labormatic perfectly synthesises the sinuous forms drawn from its historical inspirations, with modern aesthetic standards.

The name LABORMATIC comes from the constituent parts of ‘LABOR’ and ‘MATIC’ which are defined as follows:

LABOR = The ‘Work’ of the artist – the highest expression of his creativity.
MATIC = The ‘Mechanics’ – The heart of the watch.

The latin etymology of ‘Labor’ means not only work, but effort, industriousness, diligence, and enterprise. Combined with an ‘automatic’ heart, and as they say time is not measured, it is lived.

A simple and clear time display with a touch of refinement that makes Labormatic unique. The round case and the crown positioned at twelve o’clock create a perfect visual symmetry. There are two styles for their first creation, Cinquanta and Bauhaus.
