Next we meet Mo Coppoletta, Art Director at Gagà Laboratorio and world-renowned artist, designer and tattoo artist. His immense passion for art in all its expressive forms and applications, has made him a multi-faceted visionary, able to adapt his style, strongly inspired by graphic, ornamental and decorative arts, spanning from medieval times to the early parts of the 20th century, in executions that lend themselves to design, illustrations and fine art.
We hear Mo’s fascinating views on business, design, his favourite watches and what the future holds for him.
MWM: How is business?
MC: It’s pretty eventful lately, hard work will hopefully pay off. Tougher times take you outside of your comfort zone and you are forced to deliver…all good though.
MWM: What are your current business priorities?
MC: Since I work on many different projects at the same time, organisation of work is key, in order to give your brain time to refuel and get inspired again. Having smart collaborators around me is another.
MWM: Tell us something we don’t know about Gagà Laboratorio watches?
MC: The Gagà Laboratorio collection was designed with longevity of the brand in mind. The collections in the near future will be very interesting and quite unexpected, so stay tuned!
MWM: Which watch do you wear?
MC: Many, I change them all of the time. Currently, I’m wearing my Vacheron Constantin 1921 (above).
MWM: Which watch would you like to own?
MC: I’d love to own the F.P. Journe Chronomètre à Résonance Black Label first generation (above).
MWM: What do you like best about the Watch business?
MC: Diversity of attitude from small independents compared to big group brands; it keeps the industry a very lively place.
MWM: What don’t you like about the Watch business?
MC: Lack of creativity at all times.
MWM: What is next on the horizon for you?
MC: Landing all of the projects I have in the pipeline at the moment and have my own art exhibition.
