The new Hanhart 415 ES combines the timeless design of the original with modern materials and technologies, remaining true to the brand’s rich history while meeting today’s demands.
Throughout history, there have been many different versions of the Hanhart 415 ES. Some models, which can be found in historical cata-logs, were realised with Dauphine hands. Other versions featured straight hands, similar to the iconic 417 ES. Dials were available in light and dark versions. However, one very special design captivated the Hanhart development team and was revived according to modern manufacturing standards and using the latest materials: the 415 ES with straight hands, tachymeter scale and red hundred scale.
The new 415 ES has a black dial with totalizers at 3 and 9 o’clock. The tachymeter scale on the outer edge of the dial helps to measure speed over a set distance. There is also a red hundredths scale on the dial. To facilitate the management and cal-culation of work and production times, time is often measured in industrial minutes.
The dial of the 415 ES bears the historic “wing logo” (above), a symbol that Hanhart has used as an official logo since the 1960s to rejuvenate and modernise its appearance. This is the first time in over 40 years that this special logo has been used on a Hanhart wristwatch.
Hanhart has revived the model in a historically correct size of 39 mm diameter, while retaining the charm of the original watch from the 1960s. The aim of the new edition was not to create an exact copy of the old watch, but to retain the classic design and equip it with modern materials and a new movement to give the watch state-of-the-art technology.
Inside, the 415 ES uses the proven Sellita SW 510 M to ensure reliable and accurate timekeeping. The case is also antimagnetic, providing additional protection against ex-ternal influences. On top it is shockproof, featuring Hanhart movement damping as an additional layer of shock protection, ensuring reliable performance even in rugged environments. The chronograph has a manual winding mechanism and two symmetrical pushers for easy operation. The watch is water-resistant to 10 bar / 10 ATM. In addition, the Super-LumiNova® X1 coated indices, numerals and hands are easy to read even in poor lighting conditions.
As a pioneer in the development of wrist chronographs and stopwatches, Hanhart has played an outstanding role in the history of the German watch industry. Development, production and sales of the mechanical masterpieces are based in Gütenbach in the Black Forest.
