Jaeger-LeCoultre Unveil Le Chalet Providing A Rare And Unique Experience

Jaeger-LeCoultre has unveiled Le Chalet, a beautifully restored traditional farm building nestled in the heart of the Vallée de Joux.

From its very origin, Jaeger-LeCoultre has been a Manufacture, a visionary concept that united all watchmaking crafts under one roof. This unique structure has been fundamental to the Maison’s identity as well as its relentless pursuit of horological excellence, fostering innovation and ensuring the highest standards of quality.

More than a restoration, Le Chalet is a serene retreat nestled in the Vallée de Joux—home to Jaeger-LeCoultre for nearly 200 years. Inspired by nature and tradition, the Maison’s artisans have long crafted timepieces in harmony with their surroundings.

In partnership with the commune of Le Chenit, this restored 19th-century mountain chalet offers a rare experience: a secluded hideaway amidst pine forests and alpine meadows, where heritage and craftsmanship converge.

Originally a summer refuge for local herders, Le Chalet remains steeped in pastoral tradition. Its structure—once a barn, stable, and cheese room—has been sensitively revived. The original wood and signature thuyé chimney have been preserved, while the former dairy now houses a kitchen serving seasonal menus rooted in regional produce, especially the famed Vacherin cheese.

The chalet’s facades are clad in hand-cut tavaillons, wooden tiles crafted using centuries-old techniques passed down in the Jura. These have been lovingly renewed by local artisans using timber from nearby forests.

Exclusively open to Jaeger-LeCoultre’s invited guests, Le Chalet offers more than just stillness—it’s an invitation to connect with the culture, silence, and soul of the Vallée de Joux.
