This new release marks a significant evolution for the collection, combining the Luminor’s distinctive DNA with the versatility of a reduced size, making it perfectly suited for contemporary lifestyles.
Since debuting ceramic in 2007 with the Radiomir Black Seal Ceramica, Panerai has become renowned for mastering this complex, high-tech material. Celebrated for its lightweight comfort, resistance to heat, corrosion, and scratches, ceramic has become an integral part of the brand’s modern identity. With the PAM01460, Panerai showcases its ability to adapt advanced manufacturing techniques to even the most intricate elements of the Luminor case — including the crown-protecting device, now reimagined in ceramic.
Water-resistant to 30 bar (300 metres), the case undergoes rigorous testing at pressures 25% beyond its guarantee, ensuring it meets Panerai’s uncompromising standards. Even the lugs — the most stress-prone component of any case — have been reinforced to withstand daily wear, a testament to the Maison’s technical expertise.
The PAM01460 embodies Panerai’s unmistakable design language: a 40mm all-black ceramic case housing a sun-brushed sandwich dial with luminous white Super-LumiNova® X2 details for exceptional legibility. The dial bears the discreet inscription BiTempo — Italian for dual time — a nod to the Maison’s heritage and flair for understated sophistication.
Completing the watch is a supple black calfskin strap, complemented by an interchangeable black rubber strap. Both are fitted with the PAM Click Release System™, allowing for effortless changes without the need for tools.
Powering the PAM01460 is the automatic Calibre P.900/GMT, delivering a 3-day power reserve within a movement just 5.20mm thick. Its bidirectional oscillating weight stores energy in a single barrel, while the balance wheel — operating at 28,800 vibrations per hour — ensures precision timekeeping. A stop-seconds function allows for exact setting, while the GMT complication, displayed over 12 hours, offers enhanced practicality for today’s global traveller.
Viewed through a smoked sapphire crystal caseback, the P.900/GMT is a striking example of Panerai’s watchmaking savoir-faire: robust, functional, and beautifully executed.
