With the new 417 ES Mocha Flyback Date, Hanhart unveils an exclusive edition created in collaboration with Porsche Fahrer Magazin.

From the Black Forest, where Hanhart’s tradition of exacting craftsmanship was born, to the world of motorsport, where engineering excellence meets emotional exhilaration, this new chronograph embodies a bridge between two legacies defined by mechanics, motion, and mastery. The latest timepiece is a meeting of minds from two seemingly contrasting worlds: fine mechanical watchmaking and high-performance motoring. Yet, both share the same DNA — a relentless pursuit of precision, character, and timeless design.

The first impression is one of warmth and refinement. The mocha-brown dial, enriched with crisp white numerals, delivers impeccable readability and understated sophistication. Its polished, smooth bezel flows seamlessly into the 42 mm stainless-steel case — a composition of satin-brushed and mirror-polished surfaces that capture the light with quiet confidence.
A high-domed sapphire crystal, anti-reflective on the inner side, protects the dial, while a transparent caseback reveals the beautifully decorated movement within. The date window at 6 o’clock sits harmoniously within the balanced dial architecture — an exercise in proportion and poise.

Powering the 417 ES Mocha Flyback Date is the AMT5100 M, a hand-wound column-wheel chronograph movement developed by Sellita’s Manufacture AMT division. It boasts a flyback function, small seconds, a 30-minute counter, and a 58-hour power reserve.
Beating at 4 Hz (28,800 vph) and finely adjusted in Hanhart’s Gütenbach workshop to a remarkable accuracy of 0 to +8 seconds per day, this movement exemplifies the German ideal of mechanical exactitude. Built for resilience and precision, it’s a calibre designed for those who appreciate the tactile pleasure of winding their watch — and the rhythmic heartbeat of a true chronograph.

No Hanhart chronograph would be complete without its signature detail — the red pusher. Steeped in both legend and practicality, it has become an emblem of the brand’s identity.
Romantic lore tells of a pilot’s lover who painted the pusher red, a symbol of remembrance and safe return. In truth, the colour served a crucial function: to prevent accidental resets of the chronograph during flight — an essential safeguard for time-critical missions.
Today, the HyCeram® red pusher continues this dual legacy, blending functionality with storytelling. It is, quite simply, a small detail with immense soul.

Collectors can choose between a dark brown calfskin strap with Alcantara lining or a stainless-steel bracelet. The leather option features a historic bund-style underlay, a nod to the pilot’s chronographs of the 1960s and 70s. Originally, this design was practical — shielding the wrist from early copper or brass cases that could irritate the skin — yet today it stands as a stylish link to the brand’s aviation roots.
Thanks to a quick-change strap system, the bund underlay can be removed in seconds, allowing wearers to alternate effortlessly between vintage character and modern minimalism.

At Hanhart, precision is more than a standard — it’s a philosophy. Each movement is meticulously tested and regulated by master watchmakers to achieve the brand’s signature accuracy of 0 to +8 seconds per day, ensuring no wearer will ever be late because of their timepiece.
This level of regulation — allowing only a positive deviation — is an ode to the German virtue of punctuality. The result is a chronograph that doesn’t just measure time; it honours it.

The Hanhart 417 ES Mocha Flyback Date stands as a testament to enduring craftsmanship and contemporary innovation. It unites the soul of vintage aviation with the spirit of modern motoring — precision and passion in perfect sync.
For collectors who understand that true luxury lies in the details, this is more than a timepiece. It is a celebration of heritage, engineering, and emotion — captured in mocha and steel.
