Honouring its historic ties with China, Vacheron Constantin’s latest addition to its Métiers d’Art The Legend of the Chinese Zodiac series celebrates the sign of the Horse.

Vacheron Constantin continues to pay tribute to the Chinese culture through the Métiers d’Art The Legend of the Chinese Zodiac collection, with the introduction of two 25-piece limited editions dedicated to the Year of the Horse. Set in a 40mm case, the complex and technically sophisticated Calibre 2460 G4 is placed at the service of aesthetics, giving free rein to the artistry of the Maison’s métiers d’art specialists. The evocative beauty of the dial, which unites the crafts of relief engraving, micro-painting and grand feu enamelling, is enhanced by a case of 950 platinum or 18K 4N pink gold.

Powering the Métiers d’Art The Legend of the Chinese Zodiac – Year of the Horse is Vacheron Constantin’s self-winding Calibre 2460 G4—a movement designed to celebrate artistry as much as horology.
In place of traditional hands, four rotating discs display hours, minutes, day, and date through subtle apertures around the dial’s edge. This ingenious layout frees the central space, offering an uninterrupted stage for the dial’s intricate craftsmanship.

Comprising 237 finely finished components, the 31mm calibre is just 6.05mm thick and delivers a 40-hour power reserve. Through the sapphire crystal caseback, the 22K gold oscillating weight reveals its openworked Maltese Cross, adorned with a delicate guilloché motif. Finishing details such as Côtes de Genève, perlage, and hand-bevelled bridges exemplify the Maison’s commitment to Haute Horlogerie—an excellence certified by the Hallmark of Geneva.
Vacheron Constantin continues its devotion to traditional decorative arts with The Legend of the Chinese Zodiac – Year of the Horse. This exceptional creation combines grand feu enamelling, miniature painting, and hand-engraving to capture both artistry and symbolism.
At its heart gallops a finely sculpted horse, leaping over a rock amid a dreamlike enamel landscape. The motif, rendered in 18K white or pink gold, is hand-engraved and patinated to reveal intricate detail—the horse’s flowing mane, taut muscles, and textured terrain. Each dial takes around three days to complete.

The background’s ethereal gradient is achieved through multi-layered grand feu enamel, fired repeatedly at over 800°C, and complemented by miniature-painted foliage—a meticulous process spanning two weeks.
Limited to 25 pieces in each metal, the pink gold version is paired with a brown alligator strap, while the platinumedition features a deep blue strap—each reflecting the refined artistry that defines Vacheron Constantin.
