Designed by Henri d’Origny in 1978, the Arceau remains one of Hermès most poetic interpretations of time.

With its round case and stirrup-inspired asymmetrical lugs, the design effortlessly recalls the House’s equestrian heritage—yet always finds fresh ways to express imagination and artistry.
In its latest creation, the Arceau Jour de Casting, Hermès celebrates the spirited world of animals through a trio of beguiling portraits inspired by the Jour de Casting silk scarf by British artist Liz Stirling. On each dial, three delightfully mischievous dogs—Orson, Amy and Taco—take centre stage, their charm immortalised through exceptional artisanal techniques: wood marquetry, miniature painting and cloisonné enamel.
Each of these limited editions represents a masterclass in craftsmanship.

Orson, in striking black and white, is brought to life through intricate wood marquetry. Composed of eight varieties of wood, each minuscule fragment is cut, assembled and polished with the precision of a puzzle.

Painted details—eyes, muzzle, and tongue—imbue depth and warmth, transforming the dial into a living tableau.

Amy, ever the fashionable hound with her textured spectacles, is realised through the art of miniature painting and engraving. Layer upon layer of colour is applied and fired, each nuance enhancing her lively expression.

The result is a portrait brimming with personality and joie de vivre.

Taco, the third member of this charming trio, is rendered in cloisonné enamel. Against a snailed blue background, fine gold wires outline his laughing eyes and snowy coat.

The process, requiring multiple firings and an exquisite control of pigment, lends the composition an extraordinary sense of depth and texture.
Encircling these miniature works of art is a 38 mm white gold case, set with 71 diamonds, housing the mechanical self-winding Hermès H1912 calibre. Each edition—limited to either 12 or 24 pieces—is paired with a supple Swift calfskin strap in a colour chosen to complement its respective canine companion.
With Arceau Jour de Casting, Hermès once again demonstrates its singular ability to blend playful storytelling with artisanal mastery—transforming timekeeping into an enchanting expression of the Maison’s imagination and savoir-faire.
