Back in October we were delighted to see that our ‘Friend‘ Konstantin Chaykin, encouraged us all to “make Halloween green again!” Who says Halloween must be associated with orange and black?
Konstantin rejects stereotypes and blindly following recently established traditions – the celebration of the eve of the Feast of All Saints is also possible in green. After all, there was a time when Halloween was already green. The famous Jack-o’-lantern, which changed our perceptions of the pumpkin so much that many people do not even realise that pumpkins can be eaten, was originally yellow-green. And those scary faces were cut out not from pumpkins, but from turnips. Only European immigrants in America – much later – introduced the tradition of using pumpkins for this.
The transition to a green Halloween was a good chance to remind ourselves once again that we want our planet to become greener, cleaner and more beautiful. Plastic waste is the new horror of modern times, worsening the environment, destroying beauty, and clogging numerous places, the amount of which grows every day.
Konstantin Chaykin wants not only to remind people about the problem of plastic garbage, but also to try to follow a more environmentally-friendly path, both for himself and his manufacturing process. Of course, this is a symbolic act, a tiny drop in a very large ocean, but the ocean is made up of drops – there will not be a single gram of plastic in the box for the new Make Halloween Green Again watches.
Funny, not at all scary and interestingly eco-friendly: Konstantin Chaykin made Halloween green.
We are already looking forward to seeing what Konstantin creates for this year’s Feast of All Saints.
