A. Lange & Söhne RICHARD LANGE JUMPING SECONDS Combines Precision And Elegance

The A. Lange & Söhne RICHARD LANGE JUMPING SECONDS unites precision engineering with refined individuality.

Almost a decade after its debut, it remains a benchmark in chronometric performance and clarity, distinguished by its integration of a constant-force escapement, jumping seconds, and the signature ZERO-RESET mechanism. This new edition, limited to just 100 pieces, pairs a 750 pink-gold dial with a white-gold case, creating a striking interplay of warmth and brilliance that underscores its rarity and collectible appeal.

The RICHARD LANGE JUMPING SECONDS celebrates the most precise unit of time — the seconds — with a movement that unites three groundbreaking mechanisms: a constant-force escapement for uniform energy delivery, a jumping seconds display for uncompromising legibility, and the ZERO-RESET function for exact one-second time setting.

The dial architecture emphasises this focus: the largest subdial is devoted to the seconds, while hours and minutes are placed symmetrically below. A discreet triangular aperture provides an early red warning when the power reserve approaches depletion.

Inspired by 18th-century precision chronometers from Dresden master watchmaker Johann Heinrich Seyffert — carried by explorer Alexander von Humboldt on his expeditions — the design embodies a lineage of scientific timekeeping that shaped Ferdinand Adolph Lange’s vision.

At its heart lies the 390-part calibre L094.1, manually wound and assembled twice to Lange’s uncompromising standards. The remontoir spring, crafted in-house along with the balance spring, delivers flawless interaction between constant-force escapement, jumping seconds, and ZERO-RESET. Through the sapphire-crystal caseback, collectors can admire the choreography of these mechanisms — the remontoir spring recharging every second, the rotating star driving the seconds jump, and the lever system of ZERO-RESET halting the balance for absolute precision.

“The RICHARD LANGE JUMPING SECONDS pairs comprehensive precision with individual elegance. On the one hand, it offers superb rate accuracy as well as quick and precise settability; on the other, our watchmakers succeeded in integrating the complex mechanisms in a confined space, thus enabling a flat architecture of elegant proportions. The ensemble of colours – the case in 750 white gold and the pink-gold dial with contrasting black markings – represents a distinguishing feature of the watch.”

Anthony de Haas, Director Product Development, A. Lange & Söhne

The finishing is pure Lange: hand-engraved balance cock, screwed gold chatons, blued screws, and the untreated German-silver three-quarter plate with traditional decoration.

Limited to 100 pieces, this edition pairs a white-gold case (39.9 × 10.6 mm) with a warm pink-gold dial, creating a striking visual signature. A dark-brown leather strap with white-gold prong buckle completes the ensemble — a timepiece that unites chronometric mastery, artisanal excellence, and rarity destined for discerning collections.
