The Minase Divido’s unique design is inspired by the Japanese 3-dimentional puzzle.
Through a revolutionary approach in watchmaking, the dial seems to be floating inside the case, suspended below the box-type sapphire window. 100% manufactured in Japan. Indeed, there is physical space between the case and the edges of the dial, which is only fixed by four tiny screws on the corners, enabling light to flood in from all sides on the hand-painted dial.
Divido’s 40.5 mm case is made of 16 stainless steel components, most of them finished by hand with the sallaz technique. The dial seemingly floats inside the case, a construction inspired by Japanese 3D puzzles that stands out from other designs known in the watch industry.
Divido features two types of handmade dials : regular and urushi. First, regular dials are made of copper and painted with a Japanese laquer. The second are made of urushi sap mixed with egg white, painted with colour and enhanced with silver particles or shells (above).
