To mark its 270th anniversary, Vacheron Constantin unveils Les Cabinotiers: La Quête — a collection inspired by astronomy, adventure and the human spirit.

Among its most evocative creations are the Homage to Epic Warriors Minute Repeater watches, which honour legendary heroes — Alexander the Great, Antar ibn Shaddad, Genghis Khan and Sasaki Moritsuna — through exquisite artistry and horological mastery.
Each 41mm piece, crafted in 18K gold, features a miniature grand feu enamel portrait of its warrior hero, set against a hand-engraved landscape depicting the scene of triumph. Every detail — from the engraved case to the chime of the movement — evokes courage, conquest and craftsmanship at its finest.

At the heart of each timepiece beats the Calibre 1731, one of the thinnest minute repeater movements ever made. Just 3.9mm thick, it delivers a 65-hour power reserve and a sound of remarkable clarity, controlled by a silent flying strike governor. The gongs are attached directly to the case to amplify resonance — a nod to the Maison’s long heritage of chiming watches, dating back to its first repeater in 1806.
Visible through the sapphire caseback, the movement’s architecture is a study in refinement: Côtes de Genève, hand-bevelled bridges, and the discreet Maltese cross motif — a signature of Vacheron Constantin’s uncompromising approach to finishing.

Each watch is a meeting of two great métiers d’art — engraving and enamelling — taking over 280 hours of combined work per piece. The engraved case, created using the taille-douce technique, carries intricate motifs echoing each hero’s culture and story. The enamel dials, requiring up to seven firings at 800–900°C, bring to life miniature battle scenes of colour and motion, painted with brushes finer than a single hair.

Whether Alexander leading his cavalry, Antar confronting a lion, Genghis Khan in full charge, or Sasaki Moritsuna riding the waves into battle, each tableau captures a moment of triumph — a celebration of human courage and mastery.

Alexander the Great – The Visionary Conqueror
The Les Cabinotiers Homage to Alexander the Great captures the essence of one of history’s most brilliant commanders. On a hand-engraved battlefield of 18K yellow gold, Alexander rides Bucephalus, painted in vivid grand feu enamel — his poised command immortalised in miniature. Behind him, the engraved spears of his army form a radiant motif, echoing his relentless drive for conquest and enlightenment.
The engraved white gold case continues the Macedonian theme, etched with patterns inspired by Alexander’s weapons of war. Beneath the artistry beats the Calibre 1731, the ultra-thin minute repeater that transforms victory into sound. Its rich, resonant chimes recall the march of an empire that reshaped the world. A tribute to a leader whose vision transcended borders, this piece embodies both heroic ambition and horological mastery — timeless symbols of power and precision.
Antar – The Warrior Poet
Celebrated as the chivalric hero of pre-Islamic Arabia, Antarah ibn Shaddad — known simply as Antar — was both fierce warrior and eloquent poet. On the dial of this Les Cabinotiers creation, Antar confronts a lion mid-battle, a scene miniature-painted in grand feu enamel against a desert landscape engraved by hand.
Each grain of sand seems alive in 18K gold, achieved through the taille-douce technique, while the white gold case is adorned with flowing Arabesque engraving — a tribute to the art and poetry of the Arabian world. Within, the Calibre 1731 minute repeater sings with warmth and clarity, it’s chimes a musical echo of Antar’s verse — noble, defiant, and eternal. This watch celebrates not only a hero’s strength, but also his artistry: the perfect fusion of poetic spirit and mechanical precision, bound together by Vacheron Constantin’s enduring craftsmanship.

Genghis Khan – The Unifier
The Les Cabinotiers Homage to Genghis Khan channels the indomitable force of the Mongol ruler who reshaped the ancient world. Against a hand-engraved gold backdrop of windswept steppes and distant peaks, Genghis Khan charges forward on horseback, falcon raised high — rendered in vibrant grand feu enamel that captures both motion and might.
The 3N yellow gold case, hand-engraved with traditional Mongolian motifs, reflects the power and unity of his empire. At its heart lies the Calibre 1731, whose minute repeater transforms the march of history into pure, resonant sound. A fusion of horology and legend, this piece embodies discipline, vision, and leadership — qualities that echo through the centuries. Each chime resonates like the call of a distant steppe wind, a reminder that true mastery — whether martial or mechanical — is timeless.
Sasaki Moritsuna – The Sea Warrior
With Les Cabinotiers Homage to Sasaki Moritsuna, Vacheron Constantin turns to feudal Japan, where loyalty and honour defined the samurai spirit. The 18K yellow gold dial portrays the pivotal moment at the Battle of Fujito, where Moritsuna led his troops across the sea — sword raised, horse surging through waves.
This vivid grand feu enamel tableau is set against a hand-engraved oceanic backdrop, its matt and polished surfaces evoking the movement of water. The engraved case and buckle mirror the motif of the Inland Sea, executed in Japanese-inspired line work. Inside, the Calibre 1731 minute repeater marks time with crystalline tones — its melody as precise and disciplined as a samurai’s strike. A union of courage, craftsmanship, and serenity, this watch captures the essence of bushidō: mastery over both oneself and one’s art.
