As Vacheron Constantin marks its 270th anniversary, the Maison unveils another chapter in its Les Cabinotiers “La Quête” series — a celebration of humanity’s eternal pursuit of excellence.

The Métiers d’Art – Homage to the Labours of Heracles pays tribute to the legendary demi-god, reinterpreting his twelve epic trials through the language of haute horlogerie and the decorative arts.
Each of the 40mm white gold masterpieces is a miniature stage upon which myth and mechanics perform in perfect synchrony. Two levels of gold form the dial: one engraved and enamelled with a map of ancient Greece, the other devoted to a vivid grand feu enamel painting and micro-sculpture of Heracles in heroic combat. Every element — from the waves of the Aegean to the sinews of the hero — is shaped by hand, the result of hundreds of hours of engraving and firing.
Beneath this artistry beats the Calibre 1120 AT, an ultra-thin automatic movement with wandering hours — its rotating satellites sweeping gracefully across a fixed minutes arc. The display, at once poetic and precise, turns time into motion, echoing Heracles’ journey from penance to immortality.

A 22K gold oscillating weight, engraved with a Grecian tapestry motif, honours the Maison’s devotion to detail. Each movement bears the Poinçon de Genève, affirming both technical integrity and aesthetic refinement.

The Labours of Heracles: Nemean Lion

The first of Heracles’ twelve Labours saw the hero face the fearsome Nemean Lion — a beast whose impenetrable hide rendered every weapon useless. Cornering it in its lair, Heracles relied solely on his strength, wrestling the creature into submission before fashioning its skin into a protective cloak. The dark blue enamel dial captures the power of this primal struggle through exquisite miniature painting and relief engraving, set against a backdrop of mythic Greece. A matching dark blue alligator strap completes this bold ode to courage.
The Labours of Heracles: Lernaean Hydra

For his second Labour, Heracles confronted the Hydra of Lerna — a venomous serpent with many heads, each regenerating when severed. With the aid of his nephew Iolaus, he cauterised each wound to halt the Hydra’s regrowth and finally buried its immortal head beneath a stone, sealing his triumph. The dial, in rich blue enamel tones, evokes the watery depths of Lerna, while Heracles’ struggle is rendered in astonishing micro-sculptural detail. A blue alligator strap echoes the myth’s elemental power.
The Labours of Heracles: Stymphalian Birds

In his sixth Labour, Heracles was sent to the marshes of Stymphalos to vanquish a deadly flock of man-eating birds armed with bronze beaks and metallic feathers. Guided by Athena, he used a bronze rattle to flush them skyward before felling them with arrows dipped in Hydra’s poison. The dial’s lush green enamel tones recall the shimmering wetlands of Corinthia, while Heracles’ poised form — engraved and enamelled with impeccable finesse — captures divine strength in motion. A green alligator strap harmonises with this vivid portrayal of myth and mastery.
The Labours of Heracles: Cretan Bull

The seventh of Heracles’ Labours brought him to Crete, where the mighty bull of Poseidon had unleashed chaos across the island. Sent to capture the beast barehanded, Heracles wrestled the creature into submission — a feat of sheer strength and divine resolve. The dial’s exquisite miniature enamel work depicts the hero’s struggle in vivid detail, set against tones that evoke the warmth and drama of the Cretan landscape. A brown alligator strap completes this powerful tribute to mythic mastery and mortal courage.

Through Les Cabinotiers The Labours of Heracles, Vacheron Constantin fuses mythology, craftsmanship and innovation into a single narrative — one that celebrates the hero’s triumph over adversity, and the watchmaker’s own ceaseless quest for perfection.
