A. Lange & Söhne Saxonia Annual Calendar Exudes Understated Elegance

Elegant, precise and effortlessly wearable, the new SAXONIA ANNUAL CALENDAR from A. Lange & Söhne is a masterclass in understated sophistication.

Combining technical ingenuity with refined design, this latest addition to the SAXONIA family offers a beautifully balanced interpretation of the annual calendar complication, presented in both white and pink gold, and unveiled at Watches and Wonders 2026.

Clarity Above All

True to Lange’s philosophy, legibility is paramount. The SAXONIA ANNUAL CALENDAR is designed so that its most essential information, the time and date, can be read instantly.

The dial is thoughtfully arranged: the day of the week sits at 9 o’clock, the month at 3 o’clock, and a subsidiary seconds display anchors the composition at 6 o’clock. Nestled within this lower register, the moon-phase display adds both poetic beauty and technical precision.

Crafted from solid gold and finished in a deep blue tone, the lunar disc is adorned with 428 stars, forming a miniature interpretation of the Milky Way. Remarkably accurate, it requires correction by just one day after 122.6 years.

Everyday Practicality, Elevated

The annual calendar mechanism has been engineered for ease of use. It automatically differentiates between months with 30 and 31 days, requiring manual adjustment only once a year, at the end of February.

Functionality is further enhanced by intuitive operation: each calendar display can be adjusted individually, or all indications can be advanced simultaneously via a convenient pusher at 10 o’clock.

Clean Design, Complex Execution

While the watch presents a calm, uncluttered aesthetic, its dial is the result of meticulous design work. Subtle details elevate the overall composition, from the gently recessed subdials to the intricate azurage finishing, which creates depth and a dynamic play of light.

The slender baton markers and elegant lancet-shaped hands reinforce the SAXONIA’s refined character, while newly designed appliques add a contemporary edge with their softly faceted, pyramid-like tips.

A New Manufacture Movement

Powering the watch is the newly developed L207.1 self-winding calibre, a movement that reflects Lange’s unwavering commitment to precision and craftsmanship.

Equipped with a platinum centrifugal mass rotor, it delivers efficient winding and a power reserve of up to 60 hours. Beating at 21,600 semi-oscillations per hour, the movement incorporates a traditional screw balance and in-house balance spring for exceptional accuracy.

As with all Lange timepieces, the movement is assembled twice and finished to the highest standards. Through the sapphire caseback, collectors can admire hallmark details such as the hand-engraved balance cock, polished surfaces and screwed gold chatons, all signatures of Saxon watchmaking heritage.

Refined Proportions

With a case diameter of just 36.0mm and a height of 9.8mm, the SAXONIA ANNUAL CALENDAR is perfectly proportioned for everyday elegance. Its slim profile ensures it sits comfortably on the wrist and slips effortlessly beneath a cuff.

Available in two distinct variations, each model offers its own personality:

  • Pink gold paired with a cool grey dial for a contemporary contrast
  • White gold with an argenté dial for a more classic, understated look

Both are completed with hand-stitched alligator leather straps and matching gold buckles.

The SAXONIA ANNUAL CALENDAR proves that complexity does not need to shout. Instead, A. Lange & Söhne delivers a watch that is quietly confident, combining mechanical sophistication with timeless design.

For those who appreciate discreet luxury and everyday usability, this is a compelling addition to one of watchmaking’s most respected collections.
