Slim d’Hermès Stately Wheels Is A Tribute To London

Few Maisons blend artistry and horology quite like Hermès. To celebrate the opening of its new Maison at 166 New Bond Street, London, the French luxury house has unveiled an exceptional timepiece, the Slim d’Hermès Stately Wheels, a six-piece limited edition that combines miniature artistry with high watchmaking.

Drawing inspiration from Stately Wheels, the silk scarf created by British artist Stuart Patience, the watch transforms an equestrian scene from London’s Royal Mews into a captivating miniature tableau. The dial depicts two coachmen apparently turning the wheels of the historic Queen Alexandra’s State Coach, their reins symbolising both movement and mastery. The result is a whimsical yet sophisticated composition that perfectly reflects the imaginative spirit of Hermès.

The dial itself is a remarkable feat of craftsmanship. Each detail is painstakingly hand-painted using successive layers of microscopic brushstrokes, gradually bringing depth, colour and character to the scene. The artistry is further enhanced by the presence of a flying tourbillon at 7 o’clock, adding both visual dynamism and technical prestige to the display.

Encased in 39.5mm of platinum, the Slim d’Hermès Stately Wheels is powered by the Manufacture Hermès H1950 T self-winding movement. Measuring just 3.4mm thick, the calibre delivers a 48-hour power reserve while maintaining the elegant proportions for which the Slim collection is renowned.

Completing the watch is a graphite matte alligator leather strap, a subtle reminder of Hermès’ unrivalled expertise in leather craftsmanship.

Created exclusively to commemorate the opening of the New Bond Street boutique, the Slim d’Hermès Stately Wheels is limited to just six numbered examples worldwide, making this one of the rarest and most collectable contemporary Hermès timepieces.
