A. Lange & Söhne Reimagines The Cabaret Tourbillon In Honeygold
A sculptural expression of haute horlogerie in honey gold, the latest CABARET TOURBILLON HONEYGOLD from A. Lange & Söhne reintroduces one of the manufacture’s most technically significant creations in a striking new guise.

Limited to just 50 pieces, the distinctive rectangular timepiece combines the warm radiance of Lange’s proprietary HONEYGOLD® with an intricately executed black-rhodiumed dial, creating a dramatic interplay of light, depth and texture.
Originally unveiled in 2008 as the world’s first tourbillon wristwatch equipped with a stop-seconds mechanism, the CABARET TOURBILLON marked a pivotal moment in modern precision watchmaking. Now, nearly two decades later, this latest interpretation continues that legacy while elevating the artisanal sophistication of the original design.

The 29.5 x 39.2mm case is crafted entirely from 750 honey gold, a proprietary alloy exclusive to Lange renowned for both its hardness and its rich, subtly warm hue. That same material extends to the dial, which is manufactured in-house and constructed from three separate components: the main dial, subsidiary seconds display and UP/DOWN power reserve indicator.

Against a black-rhodiumed backdrop, the raised dial elements emerge with remarkable clarity. The scales, frames and signature are painstakingly sculpted directly from the dial surface, standing proud by 0.15mm to create a pronounced relief effect. Each edge and contour is hand-finished to exacting standards before the polished Roman numerals, hour markers and outsize date frame are individually applied. The result is an architectural dial with exceptional dimensionality and visual drama.
At six o’clock, an aperture reveals the one-minute tourbillon, framed by an upper bridge and cage finished using the demanding technique of black polishing. Achieved entirely by hand, this mirror-like finish alternates between a deep black appearance and a reflective sheen depending on the angle of light, underscoring the extraordinary level of craftsmanship involved.

Inside beats the manually wound calibre L042.1, a form movement shaped specifically to complement the rectangular case. Comprising 370 components, including 84 within the tourbillon alone — the movement delivers an impressive 120-hour power reserve via a twin mainspring barrel while operating at 21,600 semi-oscillations per hour.
Visible through the sapphire crystal caseback, the movement showcases the traditional hallmarks of Saxon watchmaking, a three-quarter plate in untreated German silver with Glashütte ribbing, hand-engraved cocks, blued screws, screwed gold chatons and a solarised ratchet wheel. Every detail reflects the manufacture’s unwavering commitment to finishing excellence.

Beyond its visual and mechanical appeal, the CABARET TOURBILLON HONEYGOLD remains historically significant for its patented stop-seconds mechanism for the tourbillon, an innovation that allows the rotating escapement to be halted for precise time setting to the second, something long considered unattainable in tourbillon watches prior to Lange’s breakthrough in 2008.
Completing the watch is a dark-brown alligator leather strap secured with a matching honey-gold prong buckle, reinforcing the refined warmth of the overall aesthetic.

The CABARET TOURBILLON HONEYGOLD will make its official debut at the 2026 edition of the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este on the shores of Lake Como.
