Alexander Shorokhoff Create Hand Painted Unique Pieces

Extravagant and exclusively for the anniversary year, Alexander Shorokhov designs unique one-of-a-kind pieces limited to only one piece for his UNIQUEO collection, which is dedicated to the manufactures’ 30th anniversary.

The hand-painted mother-of-pearl dials are unique and fulfil the brand’s ethos of ‘Art on the wrist’. These latest two models are part of the 30 limited edition pieces being created for this collection.

For the tenth model of the UNIQUEO collection ‘AS.UNIQUEO.10 – Blue Tit’ (above), two beautiful hand-painted blue tits are used. The two eye-catching songbirds are always on the move, just like Alexander Shorokhov and fit without any doubt perfectly as a motif for the automatic model.

The model ‘AS.UNIQUEO.11 – Tiger’ is the eleventh model of the UNIQUEO collection and refers to this year’s year of the tiger according to the Chinese calendar. According to the Chinese horoscope, the big cat stands for courage, adventure, optimism, assertiveness and willingness to take risks.

To make such a miniature painting, the painter works with a magnifying glass and requires an average of 40 hours. Accordingly, the production process is laborious and at the highest level. Only an experienced artist can even do this detailed work by hand. Many different processes, such as the appropriate mixture of colors, the repeated drying in the oven and the final treatment with a transparent varnish take a lot of time and patience until the dial, which is barely five hundredths of a millimeter thick, is ready and can be installed.

All this handwork increases the value of each of these two watches. Much more they are unique pieces that will surpass their value in the future. Both models have a hand-engraved, refined and reliable Swiss movement and a high-quality alligator leather strap with engraved stainless steel buckle. The case of the ‘Tiger’ model is additionally finished with 18 carat red gold precious wire.
