Alexander Shorokhoff is inspired by the mighty River Neva, which flows through Saint Petersburg, with the latest successors of the new NEVA series also being inspired by this great natural occurrence.
The wavy guilloché of the dial and the small curved second hand, which bears the shape of the letter “N” – referring to the name of the watch – remain as in the previous models. Thereby, this series is completed with two last variants in a stainless steel case and with an IP-coated blue case.
These last colour combinations were not selected by chance. They are based on the enchanting “White Nights”, during which the sun does not completely set in the former imperial capital city. From the end of May to mid-June, the sun creates a unique light that flashes on the majestic cathedrals and the golden palaces, making them glitter and shine – a true light spectacle. Even at midnight, the twilight transforms from blue to yellow and conjures up an extraordinary atmosphere.
This blaze of colour was incorporated into the new “Neva” models. The yellow-gold hands, the calendar window and the famous large number “60” shine on this warm overall composition. The rich blue and the delicate yellow harmoniously match each other.
For the movement is used Russian caliber 3105.Poljot, which is derived from the Swiss Valjoux caliber 7734, but without chronograph function. The movement is completely overhauled, re-oiled, adjusted and tested at the “Alexander Shorokhoff” watch manufacture. The bridges, as always with “Alexander Shorokhoff” brand watches, are hand-engraved or cloud-cut, and the screws are polished and blued. This beauty can be viewed through the sapphire crystal bath. These movements are no longer reproduced today.
However, the “Alexander Shorokhoff” watch manufactory has secured a limited quantity and produces this series in a small limited number.
