Bulova Reimage Iconic Lunar Pilot With Brazilian Artist

To celebrate their 150th anniversary, Bulova have unveiled the Lunar Pilot x Budii, a limited-edition that bridges a defining moment in space exploration with modern artistic expression.

This release pays tribute to Bulova’s historic contribution to the Apollo 15 mission in 1971, where the original Lunar Pilot Chronograph was worn on the moon. Now, that legacy is reimagined through a vibrant collaboration with renowned Brazilian pop artist Thiago Rosinhole, whose signature “Budii” astronaut character brings new cultural and visual dimension to the piece.

Rooted in the legacy of the original Lunar Pilot and engineered to withstand extreme conditions, the anniversary edition merges technical craftsmanship with Rosinhole’s space-age artistry. Each watch features a striking Timascus dial, crafted by layering and forging various titanium alloys and heat treating them to reveal vibrant, one-ofa-kind timepieces. The kaleidoscopic dial shimmers with futuristic tones that echo Rosinhole’s visual language, while remaining grounded in Bulova’s commitment to craft and precision.

The case back is engraved with an exclusive Budii astronaut illustration, along with commemorative text paying tribute to the Apollo 15 mission, linking the watch to its place in space history.

Encased in stainless steel, the Lunar Pilot x Budii is powered by Bulova’s proprietary high-precision quartz movement, operating at a frequency of 262kHz. This ultra-accurate technology enables a sweeping chronograph second hand, combining quartz reliability with the elegance of mechanical motion.

The collectible set is completed with a 6-inch Budii astronaut figurine, designed by Rosinhole exclusively for this release and housed in custom packaging that underscores the partnership’s creative fusion of pop culture and horology.

Retailing for £1,295.00, the Lunar Pilot x Budii is available at select Bulova retailers.
