Christopher Ward has always understood that the most compelling limited editions don’t just wear history — they operatewithin it. With the C60 Clipper GMT, created in collaboration with Pan American World Airways, the brand delivers a 707-piece tribute to the jet age, when travel was aspirational, elegant, and world-changing.

The reference point is precise. On October 26th, 1958, Pan Am made aviation history by launching the world’s first commercial jet-powered transatlantic service, flying the Boeing 707 “Clipper America” from Idlewild (now JFK) to Paris-Le Bourget. That moment quite literally shrank the world — and Christopher Ward has embedded it directly into the watch. The ‘26’ on the date wheel is rendered in Pan Am blue, while the 707-piece limitation pays homage to the aircraft that redefined global mobility.
“Pan Am wasn’t just an airline – it was a pioneer, shaping the future of air travel with style, innovation, and meticulous attention to detail. At Christopher Ward, we share that same ambition – to push the boundaries of watchmaking while remaining true to our principles of precision and design. The C60 Clipper GMT celebrates this legacy, combining the evocative golden age of aviation with modern innovation.”
Mike France, CEO and Co-Founder, Christopher Ward
The watch itself is housed in a 42mm Light-catcher™ case, paired with a blue aluminium 24-click bi-directional bezelengraved with IATA airport codes rather than the usual city names — a subtle but deeply authentic nod for aviation enthusiasts. These 24 locations trace Pan Am’s historic route network, including:
- DAL (UTC-6) – Dallas, a key Pan Am hub for European services and, fittingly, the site of Christopher Ward’s first U.S. showroom
- LPB (UTC-4) – La Paz, reflecting PANAGRA’s pivotal role in expanding Pan Am’s South American reach
- EYW (UTC-5) – Key West, highlighted in red as the departure point of Pan Am’s inaugural flight in 1927
Functionally, the bezel delivers true worldtimer capability. Set the hour or GMT hand to UTC, align the GMT triangle, and the 24-hour rehaut beneath the crystal displays the time across all 24 locations instantly — intuitive, legible, and refreshingly analogue.

Aesthetically, the watch leans unapologetically into period correctness. The hands and indexes are filled with Super-LumiNova Grade X1 BL Old Radium, delivering a warm, vintage glow reminiscent of 1950s cockpit instrumentation. The seconds hand replaces Christopher Ward’s Trident with a blue Pan Am Clipper aircraft, a small but evocative detail that reinforces the theme without tipping into novelty. Despite its aviation leanings, this remains a serious tool watch, retaining 300 metres of water resistance.

Turn the watch over and the heritage continues. The closed, screw-down caseback features a deeply stamped Pan Am “Blue Meatball” globe — once ranked as the world’s second most recognisable trademark — with each example laser-engraved with its individual edition number.
Powering the C60 Clipper GMT is the Sellita SW330-2 GMT, offering a 56-hour power reserve and a stated accuracy of ±20 seconds per day — a proven, serviceable movement choice that prioritises reliability over theatrics.

“The C60 Clipper GMT is a tribute to the ingenuity that made Pan Am a global icon. It honours our heritage while embracing the modern, forward-looking vision guiding this luxury brand today. We’re proud to see this legacy carried into a new era through such exceptional craftsmanship.”
Craig Carter, CEO, Pan American World Airways
The watch is offered on Christopher Ward’s Bader bracelet, retailing at £1,450 / $1,995 / €1,895, and is accompanied by a complimentary woven strap made from the same material used in Pan Am seatbelts, complete with quick-release spring bars — an inspired touch that collectors will appreciate.

Completing the experience is thoughtful, era-appropriate packaging: a light-blue cleaning cloth printed with a 1950s Clipper jet illustration and a custom Pan Am blue outer sleeve.
For collectors who value narrative authenticity, functional design, and historically anchored limited editions, the C60 Clipper GMT doesn’t just commemorate the golden age of air travel — it captures the optimism that defined it.
