HERBELIN Cap Camarat Diver Automatic In Vibrant Orange

HERBELIN Cap Camarat Diver Automatic In Vibrant Orange

Cap Camarat, an iconic line for French watchmaker HERBELIN, is the proud heir to Michel Herbelin’s creations from the 1970s.

Like its predecessors, the self-winding Cap Camarat Diver offers a modern take on a 1970s timepiece from the watchmaking heritage of HERBELIN. Subtly alternating a vertical brushed finish and polished facets, the 42 mm stainless steel case is entirely coated with DLC (Diamond-Like Carbon). This has properties similar to diamond, including extreme hardness and scratch resistance. Its hexagonal shape, accentuated by the crown protection, gives the piece a sturdy geometric look. The fixed bezel, in the same finishing and adorned with six decorative screws, softens the sharp architecture of the model with its rounded shape.

Protected by a sapphire crystal, the dial features a matt black background. Complete with horizontal stamped pattern, it showcases the bevelled hour markers, as well as the rectangular faceted hour and minute hands. Discreetly enhanced with a double day/date aperture at 3 o’clock, which is adjusted by the screw-down crown at half past 3, the ensemble provides a precise reading of the time.

Reflecting the hallmark characteristics of the collection, this watch features a bidirectional rotating internal diving gauge, adjustable by the screw-down crown at half past 2. Punctuated with a luminescent triangular dive time indicator, its sandblasted black background clearly indicates a precise graduation of the first 15-minutes, highlighted in a vibrant orange to ensure optimum visibility in the darkness of the ocean depths. The similarly coloured central seconds hand presents a Luminova power indicator, a safety measure that allows the wearer to check that the timepiece is in good working order.

The equally vibrant integrated strap is also a classic feature of the watch models of the time. It is made of high performance FKM elastomer, a highly durable material that allows it to be guaranteed for ten years.

As with all HERBELIN timepieces, the Cap Camarat Diver was designed, engineered, assembled, adjusted and inspected at the French brand’s studio in the Jura mountains of the Franche-Comté region. Only the self-winding mechanical movement that powers it is Swiss-made (Sellita), guaranteeing accuracy and reliability. Beating at 28,000vibrations per hour and incorporating 26 jewels, it provides 41 hours power reserve. The HERBELIN engraved oscillating weight with its refined finish can be admired through the transparent case back.
