HERBELIN Cap Camarat Square Gets Skelentonised

HERBELIN Cap Camarat Square Gets Skelentonised

Named after a cape in the south of the Saint-Tropez peninsula, the development of HERBELIN’s Cap Camarat Square collection continues with the arrival of a stunning skeletonised model.

Presented in a square format, the Skeletonised Cap Camarat Square is inspired by a 1970s model from the watchmaking heritage of French brand HERBELIN. Issued in a limited edition of 500 numbered pieces worldwide, the decidedly neo-vintage 39 mm stainless steel case has rounded corners, magnified by a vertical brushed finish and polished facets. Punctuated with six decorative screws, the bezel underscores a geometric robustness, drawing the gaze to the complexity of the dial, protected with a sapphire crystal.

Laid bare, the calibre has been subtly carved, offering a captivating view of its mechanism. Stripped of all superfluous materials, it demonstrates the art of transparency, giving a detailed glimpse behind the scenes. This skeletonisation, given a modern, understated look by the rhodium-plated components and wheels, transforms the sophisticated orchestration of the movement into an interlacing of sharp, compact and dynamic lines.

A beautiful shade of Cobalt blue in colour, it presents hour markers positioned as though suspended over the movement. Featuring a bevelled shape typical of the Seventies, they are coated with luminescent material, like the faceted rectangular hour and minute hands. To complete the ensemble, a sandblasted cobalt blue flange displays a minute track numbered in five-minute intervals.

Proclaiming its difference through an architectural view of its skeletonisation, the watch presents a Swiss-made self-winding calibre, the Sellita 200 -1Sc. Also visible through a transparent case back is an openwork oscillating weight with a power reserve of 41 hours. The watch is water-resistant to 100 metres.
