MeisterSinger has announced the launch of ‘Planet Earth’, a unique project in close collaboration with WWF (World Wide Fund for Nature), one of the world’s leading nature conservation organisations.
MeisterSinger’s new Edition Planet Earth makes it possible to recreate the unique, breathtaking view of our home planet from space and contribute toward protecting our planet through supporting WWF’s work worldwide. This limited-edition watch reminds us of how precious and incredibly beautiful our home planet is.
Münster, the hometown of MeisterSinger, is widely known for its long tradition of plentiful green spaces in the city center, a diversity of parks, and a strong commitment to environmental and climate protection. Over many decades, Münster has earned itself a reputation as the bicycle city in northwest Germany. And, unlike many other cities, it took effective, early measures to prevent traffic congestion.
“The people of Münster really want to make a difference.” (this was the catalyst for initiating this project)
Manfred Brassler, Founder, MeisterSinger
With a limited edition of 500 pieces, the single-hand watch specialist wants to support the international work of WWF, which is committed to preserving the earth’s biodiversity, promoting the sustainable use of natural resources, and helping to reduce environmental pollution and wasteful consumption. For every watch sold, MeisterSinger and its business partners will waive an equal share of €200, which will be donated to WWF as direct support.
The concept of the Edition Planet Earth is complemented by a vegan watch strap made of apple fiber that is identical to real leather in terms of quality, looks, and wearing comfort. An environmentally friendly packaging rounds off thesustainability concept of this limited-edition timepiece. The basis is an FSC-certified cardboard box, which is covered with FSC-certified paper on the inside as well as on the outside. The cover cushion has a cover made of recycled velour fabric.
The Perigraph series watch with its 360° open date disk, which has been highly popular for years, serves as the basis for this project. The jet-black dial encompasses the photorealistic representation of our home planet. The hour numerals from 01 to 12 are arranged in a circle, with an additional dot marking the half hours.
The mighty SW400 movement ticks inside the 43 mm case, and you can see it at work through the glass exhibition back. The world-famous logo of MeisterSinger’s collaboration partner, the panda with the WWF lettering, adorns the glass back of the Edition Planet Earth, making this watch an even more extraordinary timepiece.
