Moritz Grossmann has created a ‘Unique Piece’, which is powered by manufacture caliber 100.1 in a high-artistic-finish quality and exclusively available in the USA, which is a tribute to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Staying true to the theme of the event, a stylised, high-gloss polished football is emblazoned onto the black dial. Two small cutouts reveal parts of the sophisticated manufacture mechanics that tick beneath it. The engravings of the final score and the year are another tribute to the game of games. As is de rigueur at Moritz Grossmann and in tune with a long-standing tradition, the fine hands that indicate the time are manually crafted by specialists. Honoring the winners, the tips of this special edition shine in red and black, the team’s colours.
While the dial displays a deeply classic, functional design, the manufacture caliber 100.1, shows the opulence of Grossmann’s decorations in full beauty. Every single one of the 198 components – whether visible through the sapphire crystal case back or hidden from the naked eye – is finished in high-artistic quality by skilled experts.
Particularly striking are the ratchet wheel with its three-band snailing pattern, which creates a fascinating play of light, the hand-engraved balance cock adorned with tiny floral motifs, the refined golden chatons and the brownish-violet screws that are characteristic for the Glashütte manufactory. The technical refinements, which also bear the hallmarks of the company founder, include the Grossmann balance, the Glashütte ratchet and the stop-second mechanism for the precise setting of time.
