Mr Jones Watches Creates A ‘Time Warp’ With Latest Release
Mr Jones Watches returns with another burst of creative energy through Time Warp the latest limited edition release created in partnership with award winning illustrator Sam Taylor. Only 300 pieces will be made and each one delivers the playful irreverence that has become a hallmark of the brand.
Time Warp is a riot of colour and character. The dial presents a lively ensemble of creatures from a pastel gummy bear to a serene frog to a wonderfully chilled worm. The scene appears chaotic at first glance yet the motion of the hands gradually reveals the deeper intention behind the artwork.
At the centre sits a bright yellow skull that rotates as time passes. When it turns upside down the skull transforms into a goofy smiling face a witty nod to the reversible optical illusions of the Victorian era. The watch becomes a reminder that perspective is everything and that clarity often arrives in unexpected moments.
Taylor describes the concept as a visual metaphor for the way life shifts between confusion and resolution. He notes that each character carries its own meaning for him yet invites the wearer to create their own interpretations. The worm may embody calm resilience for one person and playful mischief for another. That openness is part of the charm.
Reading the time is delightfully unconventional. The frog indicates the minutes while the mushroom marks the hour. Once every hour the dial clears and the central skull appears unobstructed offering a moment of visual calm before the colour returns.
Time Warp marks Taylor’s first collaboration with Mr Jones Watches although his work is already familiar to global audiences through projects with Nike Vans Apple Converse and others. His signature style colourful chaotic and joyfully expressive translates seamlessly into the brand’s philosophy of telling time differently.

Sam Taylor is an award-winning artist, illustrator and designer based in London. He has exhibited his signature colourful and chaotic designs in Tokyo, Los Angeles, London, New York and Paris.
