Mr Jones Watches Launches Playful Ricochet In XL

Mr Jones Watches, an independent, design-led watch brand, has launched an extra-large version of one of its most popular watches.

The Mr Jones Ricochet XL is inspired by the world of pinball arcade. The watch uses a jump hour mechanical movement to display the time inside the scoreboard of a pinball machine manned by three robots.

Ricochet was designed by award-winning American comics creator Ryan Claytor, and launched in 2021, remaining one of the brand’s most popular watches. The new version comes in a larger case at 45mm (originally 37mm) and features an excitable fourth robot competing for the highest score.

“Pinball is essentially a game of timing: flip a fraction of a second too soon or too late and you’ll miss your intended target. In its more transcendent moments though, a game of pinball can almost mystically remove the player from any concept of time. When engrossed in a game where shots are being hit, progress being made and previously locked achievements are realised, pinball has the capacity to transport the player out of time entirely.”

The four robots on the watch are each gilded in a different metallic foil: yellow gold, palladium and rose gold. Each watch is printed, gilded and assembled by hand by the small team in London at Mr Jones Watches.
