BIVER Bring The Past And Future Together With New Warm Gold Automatique Models

Biver first launched the Automatique in September 2024, with models in platinum and rose gold.

Biver is introducing two new Automatique references that employ classic yellow gold in two different ways: one more traditional model with a yellow gold case and matching yellow gold dial and one with a yellow gold case and a bold carbon fibre and yellow gold dial. Each emphasises Biver’s unique approach to contemporary watchmaking in its own way.

Side by side, the two watches embody the breadth of perspectives that inspires Biver. They draw on traditional watchmaking aesthetics, elevate the inherent beauty of the materials they use, and push boundaries to offer clients something genuinely new and interesting.

“I believe the Biver brand should never follow others. Through producing the unexpected we have created timepieces that offer a unique perspective and a specific approach to the watchmaking art. Our new carbon and gold dial offers a contemporary alternative to natural stone, and the Atelier Series Carbon Edition is a fascinating gateway to relating our creations to disciplines like art, automotive, and maybe even travel in the future.”

James Marks, CEO, BIVER

For the model with a yellow gold dial, the material exploration goes a step further. The outer and inner rings of the dial are vertically brushed, giving them a soft look that shows off the texture of the gold itself, while the middle ring is circular grained to give the dial a two-tone appearance inspired by their favourite vintage watches. At the dial’s outer edge is the applied yellow gold chemin de fer, lending additional texture and depth while providing practical information. These play off the case itself, offering a true portrait of one of watchmaking’s most elemental materials.

Completing the package is a soft black nubuck leather strap with tonal black stitching and a yellow gold pin buckle. A yellow gold deployant clasp and yellow gold bracelet are also available on request for those who want to take things to the next level. Like all Automatique models, these two new pieces might be time-only watches, but they are anything but basic. No detail is overlooked and we relish doing things the hard way in order to produce exceptional results.

The Calibre JCB.003-C was designed and built from the ground up specifically for the Automatique. It utilises a micro-rotor for efficient winding and has a zero-reset mechanism for the centre seconds hand. Each component is decorated in their house style, with the mix of decorations and finishes showing off the talent and skills of expert craftspeople.

For the first time, Biver is introducing an Atelier Series watch with a dial made of something other than natural stone. The Carbon Edition combines the warm beauty of yellow gold with the contemporary look of carbon fibre, giving the watch a personality all its own. The carbon fibre’s woven pattern shifts and reveals itself as the light passes across it, giving the black and grey tones an iridescent appearance.

This is a sportier take on Biver’s specific watchmaking style that does not sacrifice any of the brand’s core principles or the relentless attention to detail that make our watches so distinctive and so special.

“We have created a neoclassical twist on the idea of a racing machine for the wrist, embracing the eye-catching colourway of the iconic John Player Special Formula One machines of the past. This provides a touch of nostalgia, whilst also creating something entirely derived from the Biver philosophy.”

James Marks, CEO, BIVER

The Biver Automatique Yellow Gold and Atelier Series Carbon Edition will be available from Biver’s global network of retailers in the coming months, and a limited number of pieces will be available at launch directly from Biver’s e-commerce platform. They are priced at 75,000 CHF and 89,000 CHF, respectively (excluding local taxes and duties).
