Piaget x Wristcheck Reimagine The Altiplano Ultimate Automatic

Piaget and Wristcheck have joined forces to reinterpret one of the Maison’s most technically audacious creations, the Altiplano Ultimate Automatic.

Limited to just 30 pieces and rendered in Wristcheck’s unmistakable blue, the collaboration unites two names connected by a shared appetite for innovation, individuality, and the evolving culture of contemporary watch collecting.

Founded in Hong Kong in 2020 by Austen Chu at the age of just 24, Wristcheck emerged from a belief that the secondary watch market needed greater trust, transparency, and accessibility. Already recognised within the collecting community through his influential @horoloupe platform, Chu represented a new wave of enthusiasts reshaping the conversation around watch culture. What began as a passion project quickly evolved into a global ecosystem for buying, selling, authenticating, and discussing watches across both digital and physical spaces.

Today, Wristcheck connects collectors in more than 50 countries, supported by an expanding international footprint spanning Hong Kong, Macau, and New York. Every timepiece passing through the platform is authenticated and graded by in-house watchmakers, while its editorial voice and social presence have helped establish Wristcheck as one of the most influential contemporary platforms within the industry. Supported by high-profile investors including Jay-Z and Kylian Mbappé, the company has also strengthened relationships with leading watch brands, increasingly bridging the worlds of primary and secondary market collecting.

That spirit of disruption and forward-thinking aligns naturally with Piaget. Throughout its history, the Maison has consistently challenged convention through technical ingenuity and refined creativity, particularly within the realm of ultra-thin watchmaking. Renowned for its measured and selective approach to partnerships, Piaget rarely produces collaborative limited editions, making this release especially significant.

Rather than reinterpret a traditional reference, Wristcheck chose one of the Maison’s most radical expressions of horological engineering: the 41 mm Altiplano Ultimate Automatic 910P in white gold. Measuring an astonishing 4.3 mm thick, the watch remains one of the thinnest automatic mechanical watches ever created. Its movement and case are fused into a single architectural structure, exposing 238 meticulously arranged components across the dial side in a display that is as visually compelling as it is technically extraordinary.

The project also reflects Piaget’s longstanding pursuit of ultra-thin mastery, a philosophy rooted in the words of founder Georges-Édouard Piaget: “Always do better than necessary.” Since the introduction of the groundbreaking 9P calibre in 1957 and the ultra-thin self-winding 12P in 1960, the Maison has continuously refined the art of elegant mechanical slimness, culminating in the Altiplano Ultimate concept in 2014 and the Ultimate Automatic 910P in 2017. The latter would go on to receive the Mechanical Exception Prize at the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève in 2021.

For this edition, Wristcheck introduces its signature blue throughout the watch’s intricate open-worked landscape. The hour counter, hands, screws, and peripheral rotor are all accented in vivid blue tones that animate the movement’s graceful architecture while reinforcing the contemporary identity of the collaboration. The caseback features dual engravings of both the Piaget crest and Wristcheck logo, while a deep blue calfskin strap with matching blue topstitching completes the piece with understated versatility.

More than a simple colour variation, the Piaget x Wristcheck Altiplano Ultimate Automatic represents a meeting of generations and perspectives, combining Piaget’s century-spanning expertise in ultra-thin watchmaking with Wristcheck’s modern vision for the future of collecting.
